I am new to Lexington and was wondering if there is a good place to get fresh cuts of meat. In particular, a butcher shop or meat shop.

I think Sam's Club has an excellent meat selection, and if you ask nicely, they'll even do special cuts for you. You don't necessarily have to buy in bulk with those pre-packaged meats -- I've had them cut just 2 steaks for me. The quality seems to be really good. And while you're there, pick up one of their rotisserie chickens -- they're the best I've found from a store.

I like to get my steaks and such from the Fresh Market on Tates Creek.

Oh yeah - I forgot about the Fresh Market. I love that place. They had some fresh apple cider made from honeycrisp apples last Fall...I couldn't get enough of that stuff.

I buy all of my beef from a Woodford county farmer. See link. Once you try Congleton Beef you will be hooked. I ran out of burgers a week ago and bought Kroger burgers. After we ate I immediately emailed in a new order! It's not cheap but it is delicious!
