Default Do Not Rent at Park Place Apartments!

For anyone considering Park Place Apartments, you need to read this:

An absolute scam! I lived in Park Place for two years, never missed a payment, and never caused any trouble. With a monthly rent fee of over $1000 you would expect high quality living quarters and high quality service. You will get neither at this location. Their apartments are furnished with stoves, microwaves, and refrigerators that are not only old, but worn down and discolored. Their service department has no care for apartment aesthetics. The workman tore up our carpet and ruined our tile. Upon move out, they waited until after we moved (so after final inspection) to bring in an “independent company” to assess carpet damage. The determined that, though the carpet had been there for 5 years (I was only there 2) and that 5 years is the full length of carpet, I would be held responsible for it. I lost my entire deposit and they had the audacity to charge an additional $68.26. This is a complete scam. I have photographic proof that the carpet was in excellent condition – I was told that it was the padding underneath that I was being charged for! And this is just the tip of the iceberg for this location. I have two years of stories I can tell you.

On a safety note: in the two years I lived there, in my four apartment building we had: my car broken into, two other cars broken into, and two apartment break-ins. We learned after the break-ins that the alarm system in the apartment is not hooked to anything, it's just a buzzer.

Bottom line: Save your money, rent elsewhere. Do not be mislead, as I was, by the nice exterior grounds. This apartment complex will nickel and dime you every chance they get!

They are requirerd by law to replace the carpet after a certain amount of time....you should not be required to pay for any of the carpet replacement.

Yeah they're required to replace the carpet after a certain amount of time, but they can still charge you for "cleaning fees" or whatever when they have no intention of keeping the carpet. Some places just operate dirty pool that way.

I'm wondering, if this place is so bad, why did you stay there two years and not move out after 6 months or a year? Certainly you were under a year lease? I just dont' understand staying if the place is as bad as you say it is.
