I was looking through Wikipedia's list of all CSA's in the US and noticed that Lexington's is the 16th fastest growing among the 55 largest. This is in spite of having several fast growing counties excluded and several slow growing counties (with no direct ties to Lex) included. In reality Lex is probably ranks closer to 12th in percent growth

Here's the list

It might actually be the 13th, 14th, or 15th fastest-growing CSA if the Census Bureau did the following:
a. Remove Rockcastle County from the Madison County/Richmond Micropolitan Area and add Estill County and Garrard County. Estill County is not growing much, but geographically, economically and "commuting-wise" is much stronger tied to Richmond. Garrard County, of course, is growing.
b. Create a Danville/Boyle Co. Micro. Stat. Area. If Mt. Sterling/Montgomery Co., a city with 1/3 the pop. of Danville and county with less population than Boyle Co., can become its own MSA, so should Danville. In this Danville MSA should be Boyle, Mercer and maybe Lincoln Counties.
