Housing in LexKy really confuzzled!
Hey guys, I am really confused on housing near UK, I am completely new to the area, and took a drive down to check out a few apartment communities. So far I have looked at Chinoe Creek, Park Place, Newton Crossing, and some crappy ones, and heard about the resort and merrick, but apartmentratings dot com has really thrown me off. Neither Chinoe nor Park Place are exactly recommended but I liked both places. I need some help and opinion from people here, any recommendations or comments about Chinoe or Park, or have another in mind?

I'm in Lexington, but I don't specifically know those complexes. But ... I have used the apartment website in another city-state. What I have found is that a lot of people will have a bad encounter with someone in the front office and then write a bad review (which is understandable). But you have to look carefully at the reviews to distinguish the big things from the smaller things. Obviously, I would put safety and location at the top, followed by condition (including bug-pest issues), noise, maintenance, etc. And if you can find a place with friendly management, that's the icing on the cake.

Nice apartments in Lexington would be Bridle Creek, Oak Grove, Fountains at Andover, Beaumont Farms and Hamburg Farms. Though none of these are near UK's campus. The closest one to UK is Bridle Creek across from Fayette Mall on Nicholasville Rd.

I wish I could help. There is one called, I think, The Mansion right there across from Fayette (it looks nice but the name is kind of an exaggeration) and I've been to one that was OK on Tates Creek to pick up a craigslist purchase. You need something near the university though. Others will have suggestions or will know about Chinoe, etc.

I had a babysitter that lived at Chinoe Creek while she attended UK. She loved it. She liked the proximity to school and downtown. She lived there 3 years and never had any complaints. This has been about 3 years ago.

I lived at Chinoe Creek for 5 years and I absolutely loved it there. It's a great neighborhood...quiet and safe....and convenient to shopping and UK. The maintenance staff is top-notch; typically same-day response for most maintenance requests. For me, though, the neighborhood was the major selling point.

Ok here goes....I think I have been in just about every decent apartment complex in Lexington. Lived in a couple. What are you doing here? School? Work? Do you party? Are you a bookworm? Do you want a nice pool or you don't care? Pets?
Bridle Creek is decent, but a lot of younger people live there....Freshman, Sophmore, etc. I don't know maybe that is where you are looking for......
Chinoe Creek is nice. The location is the key and the apartments are decent.
Let me know what type of person you are and I will tell you where I think you should live that would best suit your lifestyle. I lived at Grand Reserve and loved every minute of it....Attached garage, lazy river, nice pool, well kept, and no problems. With that said....everyone has a different personality and things that are important to them...What are yours?

I am going to school. I am looking for a quiet neighborhood though but still close to campus. One of my major concerns is that some buildings have outdated appliances which means high electrical usage. The things important to me are quiet location, and close to campus, and a good management (hassle free).
