The School - new sushi restaurant
Anyone been there yet? It is supposed to be located over off Todd's Rd. Just saw a quick commercial last night and it looked pretty different...thanks!

I haven't been but I've heard positive buzz about it. Can't wait to try it out.

It was great! Good sushi, good atmosphere and good service. The conveyor belt was fun, we enjoyed grabbing what we wanted as it went by the table. Personally, we tend to over-order when we go for sushi...so it was nice to sort of eat and think about it as we went.

Yes, you do pay by the plate. They have a menu you can order from as well or you can just grab what is going by on the conveyor. I thought grabbing off the conveyor was fun and interesting, a good variety and the sushi chefs are right there making it, very fresh. They also assured us if we wanted something we didn't see, they'd be happy to make it. There are 5 or 6 plate colors, starting at $2.75 and going up to $6.00. I think our bill was around $50 for sushi, tempura appetizer (ordered from menu) and iced tea, tip not included. Compared to Tomo...well, Tomo is may absolute favorite. I like Tomo's sushi better I guess, but School is very, very good and a fun experience.

Was in town on business, and tried this place. I think because of the culinary experience, it beats Tomo's pants off. I still haven't found a satisfactory sushi spot in Lexington, but this is my new favorite after trying 5 places.
