First attempt here, be gentle

Looking for any information on how several roads in the Lexington area got to be named "Hildeen". I notice that there are Hildeen Ln, Hildeen Dr etc.
The name Hildeen is not a very common one and being that I am one of the few Hildeen's in the world I was interested in knowing the hows and whys the roads were names.

Thanks.

Hi Ron,

To my knowledge, there is only one street named "Hildeen" in Lexington, and that is Hildeen Drive, which intersects Zandale Drive. I do not know the origin of the street name; however, it is not uncommon for developers to name the streets after people in their family or others familiar to them. It's possible that someone on the development team for that neighborhood had the same last name as you.

Sorry I couldn't give you any more concrete information. Perhaps the Lexington Homebuilders Association might be able to provide some insight? Their web address is www.hbal.com. They may have records of who developed that particular street.

Good luck!

Thank you
I was stationed at Ft Knox in the early 70's. Perhaps I had more influence down there than I thought :-)
My Uncle (also a Hildeen) was a land developer for several years, but in the Washington DC area.
I will check with the Homebuilder folk.
Thanks for the recommendation
Ron

I don't know about this street, but several years ago Enhanced 911 forced us to rename streets that had disjointed sections. Maybe that is why there are more than one Hildeen. To my knowledge, the only one is off Zandale.

For example, there was East and West Fairway as well as East and West Bixby. Neither of the roads overlapped, intersected, etc. When somebody would call 911, it caused some confusion. So, several streets were renamed. Some of them they kept the same name, but had different suffixes (drive, way, road, etc.)
