Rude: uncivil: lacking civility or good manners
For a part time person you seem to like to educate those of us that live here FULL TIME

Most of us who live here try to promote Lexington the best that we can. We do not belittle Texas or Chicago, nor do we try to send folks to Louisville and Cincinnati. If all you can do is complain about the town/subdivision/state where you live (or have lived) then why are you still here? When life throws lemons at you, make lemonade.
The way to get more things to happen in Lexington is to attend the ones that DO happen in Lexington. If all you do is cry that something needs to be done (or someone needs to do this) it won't get done. If you see the need, then fill it.
If everyone in Hamburg were to ride the bus, then there would be more buses. As it is the ones riding the bus are "those folks from downtown who work in our shopping center". The buses will never be full because they are for those people.
The condos downtown will never be sold because I may have to live next to those people. I want to live where everybody thinks like me, yet if I don't talk to them how will I know just what they think. My assessments will go up because of those people.
I'll just stay in my little boxes(house and car) and complain about those people.

You make a lot of good points in your post, cartomanlex.
However, I want to point out (although you probably know this personally, it could use to be mentioned) that this board isn't for the express purpose of promoting Lexington (or any other area, especially Louisville). It's just an exchange of information.
Sometimes the information about Lexington will not be positive. It isn't a perfect city, although it is a very good one. There are serious drawbacks that people should probably hear about before they invest in a move ... especially if they seem to be the sort of people who would dislike, or not be in the market for, what Lex has to offer.

1. Better traffic flow--can be done, in part, by widening practically all major thoroughfares and making New Circle 8-10 lanes!
2. Construct a beltline around Lexington/Northern Jessamine County. No, not a lame Scotty Baesler Man O' War Blvd. excuse of one, but a real limited-access interstate route. (Kinda ties back into #1.)
3. Much stricter historic preservation policies
4. An expanded parks and greenway system, like Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, etc.
5. A mandated two-weeks-per-year hiatus by local media from writing or talking about UK sports.

I have seen and been on the receiving end of your snide little comments, where anyone who posts something negative about Kentucky should leave. Seems like rudeness to me.

Well basically I get annoyed when people constantly complain about things. It makes me think they're the type that complain all the time about every single thing and they're miserable unhappy people. A few people that post here are like that no doubt. My opinion is move if you're unhappy, don't complain and whine like a baby all the time.

Ahh so you think people have the resources to move, especially right now, you know not like there is a recession going on. Nope it's easy to sell your house for less than you paid for it, and go get one of those many jobs in another city.
Sorry but as a Texan I know something about state pride, but I can also realize my state isn't perfect. Surprisingly I don't attack people who have problems with it.
