This may sound a little pathetic...but I am finally here in LExington, all settled into our new home! I love it, and so far love the town, and especially the WEATHER! (compared to back at home in Houston where it's 110 with the heat index right now!)

Problem is, I really don't know anybody here, and don't really know how to go about meeting people. I don't start my job for 5 more weeks, and neighbors just seem to wave as they drive past! I'm a very friendly person...and just need a good outlet for making some friends. I grew up in Houston most of my life, so have never really had to go out of my way to meet people in the past.

Any suggestions? We don't have kids, altough hopefully will soon, and we are both in our early 30's, like to go out and have fun, etc.

thanks!

tx2ky,
My wife and I are looking to transfer to KY. We are early 30's with no children as well. If we end up moving, we will look you up! We are from Oregon.

It really depends on your interests... I would check out LexGo.com | lexgo and find the things that are interesting to you and then be pro-active about going to the theater, the Arboretum, the local pool, the local festival, etc. Also spend time in your yard, go for walks around your neighborhood, look for neighborhood association meetings, etc. There are also lots of events at the local library. The hardest thing about a new place is to consistently put yourself out there, but people in Lex are very friendly and you will make friends!
