I couldn't disagree more. I am not a wine expert by any means. What I learn about wine goes in one ear and out the other, so I base my opinion on the fact that I drink a lot of wine and make the pilgrimage to Sonoma/Napa every year or two to stock up. I have found the Kentucky wines to be uneven for sure. Some are not drinkable but I would say the same thing about some California wines. The real story about central KY wines, however, is how well some of the wineries are doing. I would put Jean Ferris and Equus Run at the top of the list and would say that some of their wines are coming very close to California quality. They are absolutely worth the trip. The wineries are attractive and the product seems to be getting better by the year.
