^^^Louisville is hardly "giant" in terms of a city. I like Lexington a lot but there are many really nice areas of Louisville that are every bit as nice as anything in Lexington. St. Matthews, Highlands, Indian Hills, Rolling Fields... basically everything from downtown up to Prospect is very nice. If you prefer a city the scale of Lexington, that is fine, but there is no reason to bash Louisville.

I haven't been following all of the posts, but I love the real estate in Louisville. I still get a daily "search" from the Louisville realtor I used over the summer and I still look through the houses every day. I loved the tudors and tree-lined streets in Seneca Park; then I loved the ranches on larger lots in, I guess zip 40207 (?); then I loved the brick colonials in Owl Creek, etc.; and I absolutely loved Anchorage, don't even get me started on Anchorage.

You may want to look at McConnell's Trace off Leestown Road (across from Masterson Station). Our neighbors are very nice and the homes are very affordable. This is the last bastion of suburbia as you head out of the city on Leestown Road toward Frankfort (Louisville). It's very pleasant out here--and this is coming from a guy who lived most of his adult life off Tates Creek Road in the 40502!!

Do you happen to know the zip code? I searched their official site and they didn't have it listed there.

My hometown is Somerset, about 90 miles south of Lexington. When I was growing up, my parents loved going to Lexington for shopping. However, not to live there. Most people I know back in Somerset still look forward to going Christmas shopping in Lexington. Its not that bad of a drive.
I have been living in Victoria, BC for two years now, and tired of all the traffic and high prices here. Being back in Somerset will be nice, and shopping in Lexington occasionally.
I always said if I ever lived in Lexington, I would love living in the Manowar area. And its close to everything on Nicholasville rd. There are so many great places to go eat there too.
I hope you find a nice suitable area to live.

Just curious ... what do you mean by the Manowar area. I'm near Manowar where it passes Beaumont, but then I sometimes get on Manowar over in Andover, etc.

Hey CoffeeAddict, I know it's way too late since you posted in Feb, but you should have given Paris or Winchester a peek. They're very close driving distance and nice places with lost of open areas.
