Take a look at the picture at this link.

This is another reason not to send your kids to public schools.

I took that road about three weeks ago. What a beautiful drive, and I didn't feel cloistered, unsafe, or endangered at all.

What is it about this picture that makes one think that public schools are bad? I see two girls carrying signs. What do you see?

Take a closer look at the sign. The woman in the white shirt in the foreground: the sign she's carrying says "LET ARE KIDS WALK."

Thanks.
That is accurate. I went to Dunbar and then went to Ga Tech and did very well. I never felt remotely behind. I was very well prepared. I had friends that went to Henry Clay and Dunbar and then onto Harvard, Yale, MIT, UVA, UNC, etc. and did very well for themselves. You can get a fantastic education in the Lexington Public schools. For the most part Lexington has a very good public school system.

It doesn't sound like what you want really exists in Fayette Co anymore, or at least there are very, very few places. There is a 40 acre min. to subdivide farm land so smaller farms are tough to find and are at a premium. Not sure the min., but it is a similar situation in Woodford. I would suggest Scott Co if you work on the North side of Lexington. Lots of smaller farms, 2-20 acres, for a decent price. It is pretty good farm land also, gently rolling for the most part. You can get from Georgetown to N. Lexington in 15 minutes on 75 with little to no traffic. Jessamine has similar farms, but traffic is terrible on Harrodsburg/Nicholasville Rds. I believe Scott Co has pretty good schools also, though I don't know a ton about them. Georgetown(in Scott Co) is really growing also and is getting quite a bit of new retail, plus Hamburg is only 20 minutes away and it has everything, at least every big box known to man. There are some 1 level town houses in Georgetown that may interest your mom.
