"Bad" part of Bryant
A poster mentioned in another thread that Benton and Bryant both have their "good" parts of town and their "bad" parts of town. I'm thinking of buying a house in Bryant. Where are the "bad" parts of town? I'm looking at houses around the softball fields off of Mills Park (Cherry Creek) and some north of Hwy 5 in those subdivisions (Henson Rd., etc).
I asked this question in another thread but didn't want it to get lost amongst the other posts.

I grew up in bryant (sigh) and left about 12 or so years ago. At the time I left it still had the "small town" feel to it (although it was on the path to loosing it). Unfortunatly this has changed somewhat and I miss this when I go back to visit. (I still have family there).
As it is I cannot remember a "bad area" when I lived there (and I have trouble figuring out where the "bad area" would be today. Most of Bryant has been built up within the past 15 years or so (when I lived there it grew from a town of around 6-8 thousand to about twice that). Now there are some area's outside of Bryant that I would wonder about (like going towards LR) but all in all even the worst area's are not that bad (compared to towns of a similar size).
When I lived there the area around Mills Park was pretty nice, (we lived around 4 miles from there ourselves). Hwy 5 had some good area's and some bad, since then it has kind of exploded with new construction so for the most part that area should be good as well.
Others will no doubt chime in here and I am looking forward to hearing the answer myself.

Hi,
My son is a fire fighter in Bryant and I could ask him if you would like. I am sure he would know where the good and bad areas are. Let me know.

I am no expert on Saline County, but from my experience, there is no part of Bryant (or Benton) that makes me feel unsafe. There are bad areas architecturally, and in terms of sprawl, however ...

Still looking?
I'm familiar with Benton and Bryant, so if you're still looking, I would be glad to answer any questions for your needs. No, I'm not a real estate agent!

Are there bad areas of Bryant? Are there places to go have a beer?
Thanks.

Having a beer is an arduous task in Saline County, since it is dry - howeverrrr.... One restaurant in Benton has been bold enough to obtain a liquor license and may now serve alcohol so long as someone has paid the membership fee which is like $20 or $25. Dizzy's on Ferguson Drive on your way from Military Road to the Walmart complex. Other than that, it's drive to Garland or Pulaski county. Two great selections near the county line are 1) in Alexander at Exit 126/County Line Road and Highway 5/Stagecoach Road, there is a great Italian restaurant named Di'Carlo's. Carlo will very likely seat you himself. His brother [from Chicago, I think] painted the place to look like an old Italian stucco building. The food is really great, and the wine and beer selection is good too. 2) Molly O'Brien's is among the rewards for driving the scenic Highway 5 (a.k.a. Old Hot Springs Highway) from Benton to Hot Springs. Take I-30 exit 117 (Home Depot/Tinseltown /Walmart exit) and go north on Highway 5 for about 20 miles. You'll go through a bunch of curves and hills and antique shops and horsey homes, then on the right is this restaurant with an Irish name and Italian cuisine - go figure. The garlic bread is excellent, the pizza is excellent, the pasta is excellent, and yes, Garland is a wet county, so the libations are there too. Last time we were there was on St Patty's day, and Guiness was a buck a glass. Here's a link to a map. Google Maps
Any other questions?
