Moving to Cabot, Arkansas
I am originally from Alabama, but currently reside in Cleveland, Ohio. The moving truck is packing our stuff this weekend and we will be there one week before the Alabama-Arkansas game. Will it be okay to fly my Alabama flag in the front yard? I already know the answer, just want to hear it from you. I have only been to Cabot once, to look at houses, and I loved the area. It really reminds me of my hometown in Alabama, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks to our realtor, I already have an idea of all the good things about Cabot, can you let me know of any "not so good" things about Cabot, Ar?

Alright!!
Sounds like everything is good in Cabot, Arkansas. And judging by all your responses, it sounds like it would be okay to fly my Alabama flag on gameday. I guess I was wrong to assume the Razorback fans were hardcore and might be angered if I flew the flag. Good luck. And I can't wait to get to Cabot.

LOL.. Cabot is a nice place. And yes, all of Arkansas is pretty much Razorback country. The U of A plays in Little Rock a couple times a year. I've only to Cabot a few times, but it is a nice suburban area. I hate to say this, but you might want to be aware. Cabot has boomed somewhat as a white flight area for its schools. Cabot is extremely white, and some in LR moved there to get out of the troubled school system there. Bryant is the same way on the other side of LR. Other than that, I can't think of anything not great about Cabot. You'll probably love it there.

What is a white flight school?
Wow....I had to come back to edit this post I think I figured out what " White Flight " is but still not 100%
However there where other threads in this forum that have me on edge...ie.."Is Arkansas really racist".....there was stuff in there I am not sure I like....and thats not good concidering I am going to be living in Arkansas in two weeks.......this is just not good...
If I am wrong in feeling this way please correct me, and set my mind at ease.

Please don't feel that Arkansas is racist. Individual people are racists, not a state, county, or city as a whole. If you want more information on white flight, please do a google search or read the Wikipedia article instead of just going on what one person has said. This has been going on for a long time, not only in the United States but even in foreign countries. As it has been pointed out in other threads, if you go into a situation thinking negatively about it, you will probably get a negative experience, and vice versa. Hope this helps.

I'm the one who mentioned white flight. I didn't mean to imply the area is any more racist than anywhere else. That being said, there are racists (to some degree) pretty much everywhere, and in no way limited to the LR area. LR schools kinda suck, which I think is why it seems so much of the growth is in surrounding areas instead of LR itself.
Anyway, you asked about Cabot. It is a nice small town, pretty good growth in the area, a great school system, very safe, and as a side note, with some of the most attractive women anywhere. I went to college in Arkansas, and it seemed every girl I met from Cabot was drop dead gorgeous.
