Safe short term rentals or roommate services? (Conway: extended stay, sublet)

My husband is heading to LR this weekend for at least three months to work at Dassault. We're trying to find him either a roommate share (seem to be almost none) or short term CLEAN, SAFE AND REASONABLY priced weekly rentals.

I've checked Craigslist and there are only a few things listed for roommates and many are in Conway which is just too far to drive given the price of gas.

Does anyone know the best way to find roommate listings for LR, otherwise any short term weekly/monthly places that are not crack houses or in places that aren't safe to live?

I don't know where you'd find a short term roommate other than craigslist these days. I'm confident there are a variety of people out there that would be interested in a short term roommate, but I think most of them probably find others through friends, schoolmates (some medical students will rent out to other visiting students when they go away for a couple months on rotations), or work friends. Does Dassault have some sort of suggestion for visiting contractors? I don't know how often they have those sort of employees visit, but it'd seem like they might have other suggestions than an extended stay hotel. Basically I'd suggest looking for graduate students or professionals that are going to be out of town and would be willing to sublet or have an extra bedroom. Might be worth posting your own craigslist ad and seeing what kind of response you get. If you have concerns about possible areas of town, I'm sure we'd be happy to offer advice.

My husband has been in LR for a month and a half now and has been renting from someone whose lease was coming to an end. He's now looking again and CL has so little on it and we're even more limited because it's only for a few months and most people want a long term renter.

He's currently in WLR near Whole Foods and we're looking in that area, Heights, Hillcrest, or possibly NLR. As long as it's an easy commute to airport.

Does anyone know of any indie bookstores or coffeeshops or even places around these areas where there might be some boards posted with roommate ads. And otherwise is there a free weekly newspaper (the kind that have some local classifieds and events) or a regular newspaper that's online where we can also check?
