East End community school election
The East End community is going to have an opportunity for their students. East End is going to put a middle school on the ballet for elections this January. This is to people who live in the Sheridan School district which includes the Sheridan, Ico, Cane Creek, Hensley, Woodson, Prattsville, Leola, and Grapevine areas. Don't forget to vote in the special school election that will be held January 8th. The same millage proposal that was defeated in September 52 to 48 percent- but had 88 percent support in East End- will be on the ballot again. Its passage would result in the building of a middle school in East End, with the state picking up almost half the cost. There will also be other projects. Those including, a media center at East End ELementary, a fine arts center and 2 new computer labs at Sheridan Middle School. The fine arts center will have a band hall, choir room, art buildings, and will be conected to the rest of the school so that when it rains the students won't all get soaked. If you aren't registered, do so soon. Those who are registered 30 days before the election can vote. If you have recently moved here, you'll need to change the location of your registration. You can get the registration information you need at the East End Water Department on Arch Street. The school board is hosting a series of public meetings to address any conserns over the propostal. The next meeting will be held in December at Sheridan Middle School. Remember, this is just for our students. Also remember everyone in this school district pays the same school taxes. We have this one chance. Take this chance this is one of our last ones. Don't make this a war. This is for the students who make up the district.
