Is that the complex on the north side behind Damn Good Pies and Casa Manana or whatever it is called? North of Steinmart? Wow - they must have done some real gutting, those were kind of getting bad. I surely wouldn't want to have to climb that hill in the winter....actually, I don't guess you'd BE climbing that hill!

Yeah, they were completely gutted top to bottom. They closed the complex for several months to redo them. Normally when they revamp a complex they do it building by building to continue keeping them renovated. This was very unusual and a good thing as that area has high property values and it was starting to decline enough to affect single family properties around it.

I too will be moving there for 8 months near UAMS. Any suggestions on housing? I need either a 4 bedroom home or 2 units of 2 bedroom apartments to accomodate our extended family. Somewhere around $1300-$1500/month for a house or around $600/month for 2 bedroom apartments.

I planing on driving to Tontitown, AR which I am from Virginia (just temporary, not orignal from VA either) so, don't know anything about Arkansas. It will be a 20 hours drive to get there, but I am looking for an Apartment to rent for only 2 years. Either with 2 bedroom, 1 bath or 1 bedroom, 1 bath and nothing fancy just a basic and decent apartment. Perferablly 1 story, (like a ranch house or Apartment.) With a price range around $300 to $600 that includes some utilities. I'll be driving trucks real soon in Tontitown, AR if everything goes smoothly.

I know, I'm asking too much for an apartment or house in AR. On-line sites doesn't tell me much about anything, and figured someone personally could tell me a few things who acually lives in Arkansas. Also, it don't have to be neccessary in Tontitown, could be in a county that is safe and peaceful.

I would not look for anything in Tontitown. Look at Fayetteville or Springdale. Just a few minutes drive and you will be good. There will also be tons of places to rent considering Fayetteville needs to accommodate 20,000 college students every year. Springdale is going to be cheaper, but Fay will be a little bit safer. Not that Sprindale is unsafe, but I wanted to let you know if that was a major concern of yours.

This is the Little Rock subforum. Tontitown is not in the Little Rock metro. You should take your questions regarding Tontitown to the main Arkansas forum.

Your right. Well, regarding to my question above.

"Don't know anything about Arkansas. It will be a 20 hours drive to get there, but I am looking for an Apartment to rent for only 2 years. Is there anything like that in Little Rock? What's the average on renting in that area?

You should easily be able to find a house in the $1300-1500 range in Hillcrest, which is a nice neighborhood and very near UAMS. It might be harder to find a 2BR apartment in the $600 price range in that area.

I don't think you'll find any decent apartments in Little Rock for $300/month, Peterbilt. You can probably find a 1BR in the $500-600 range, though.
