We are relocating to Conway from Michigan. I have a daughter who will be in 11th grade. We visited Conway high school and were not impressed. Are there any other options for her in Conway? Please HELP! Thanks

You say you were not impressed. Could you be a little more specific? Were you unimpressed with the architecture of the building? The sports, social activities? Student's faces? Teachers attitudes? Cars in the parking lot?

Come on. This is our first impression of you. You need to do better or you post becomes an exercise in irony.

If someone turns down a school because of it having bad sports and bad architecture, whoever it is deserves a punch in the face.

Well, on Great schools.com Conway High is only rated a 5 out of 10. They do not offer many AP courses. The theatre arts program seems to be lacking as well as the run down buildings. The sports program seem to be good. Has all the money gone there? The kids were out of control during passing periods and there does not seem to be any control from the administration.
This posting thing is new to me and I am just a Mom trying to make my daughters transition to a new area a little easier. I know there is nothing easy about it but I was wondering if there was other options for her. She LOVES the theatre arts. Does Conway have a community theatre?

Conway used to be known for its great schools. Thats why so many live in Conway and commute to Little Rock. Maybe things have went downhill?

Is this the school web site you were referring to?
Parent Reviews of Conway High West - Conway, Arkansas - AR

You might want to check out Vilonia High School. It's a small town about 13 miles east of Conway.

Have you already moved?

I don't live in Conway, so I consider myself neutral.

These rankings, as is typical, are very poor indicators of quality. Conway has some of the best public schools in Arkansas, easily a top ten school district. St Joseph's wouldn't offer an upgrade and other nearby schools like Vilonia, Mayflower, and Greenbrier would be downgrades. As typical suburban schools, there is more emphasis on a good general education and less on AP classes, similar to what you'll also find in most NWA schools and other popular LR suburbs with "good schools" - Bryant and Cabot.
