My First Weekend in Little Rock (Benton, Bryant: nicest, friendly, business)

I didn't know I was a favorite whipping boy here, but bring it on. You only strengthen my negative stereotypical perspective.

In fairness though, I'm thinking this is more a Bryant/Benton deal. I've met nice folk in LR, and my coworkers are super nice as well.

Based on the absolute shocking posts you have made, there could be a reason the clerk didn't want your business. If you were rude to him or her like you have been rude here I can understand them saying that to you.

Me neither. Most of my friends reside in Saline County and I am not real keen on the lifestyle. I am sure much of my own negative perceptions about Little Rock are skewed because of Saline county. Like it or not though, if you have a family in Central Arkansas, Benton/Bryant is the place to be.

Corruption, white flight, narrowmindedness.

I've got a family and I wouldn't live there on a bet. Or Cabot or Sheridan, for that matter. (though I don't associate them with corruption in the way I do Saline County). We actually lived in Grant County for a while but I didn't send my kid to Sheridan schools, he's always attended magnet schools in LR. I'm just not down with that redneck attitude.

And I'm sure I will get attacked, so let me say yes, I am sure there are fine people in both places. But I think a lot of people live there for what I consider the wrong reasons.

(Plus I just don't like the small town/rural lifestyle in general. But some are better than others. And those are some of the worst.)

More Arkansas craziness. I was shopping in Walmart, and this redneck dude just reads in my buggy and grabs my hamburger meat. What normal person does something like this?

Then I got honked at again for no apparent reason. ARkansas has the worst drivers!!!

Oh my, it seems like about every couple of weeks something happens to you that never happens to anyone else. I have never, no matter where I lived had anyone take something out of my cart. I wonder what you do to provoke so many??? It is interesting you can let everyone know the bad that happens to you, but never have one positive thing to report.
