Moving to Little Rock from Texas (Looking for an apartment- Riverwalk/The Links/River Pointe)
Hi,
I will be moving to the LR area. I am looking for a quiet complex, and also very concerned with safety. I have norrowed my search to a few apartment complexes. I will really appreciate if you have any sugestions or know anything about the area. I liked the riverfront area and also Maumelle area. Please let me know if you have any comments/sugestions/experience with the management.
1. Riverwalk
2. Brght waters
3. The Links at the Rock
4. River Pointe

The Links and Riverpointe will be very safe and should be moderately quiet for the time being. That immediate area has been growing very fast. The Links are pretty removed from Maumelle Blvd but the Wal-Mart Supercenter is right there. That could be a blessing or a curse depending on what you're after. It'll increase traffic into and out of the general area but you can very easily walk to the store from there! And for the record, as far as WM supercenters go, that's probably one of the nicest one's ever built.

Here are a couple of tidbits of first-hand info --
Brightwaters -- I've been in an apartment there. I love the location. However, the apartment I visited had a very strange layout, and the rooms were unbelievably small. Perhaps not all units are that way?
Riverwalk -- The last I heard, a few years ago, they placed boots on tenants' and visitors' cars for parking improperly. And they had designated places for visitors...sometimes several hundred feet from the apartments they were visiting. I don't know if that's still the case.
IMO, if you're looking the Riverdale way, you should check out Rivercliff Apartments. Odd room layouts, but awesome complex. There are four six-story buildings. Very safe environment. The walls are concrete-reinforced -- You can't hear a peep from your neighbors.
Best wishes.

I agree with strumpeace. Rivercliff and Holcombe Heights are two I would consider.
As far as any area to live, Riverdale is a no brainer. Close to downtown and midtown, pretty views and parks, lots of young professionals and students down there.

I don't know any of those complexes, but Maumelle is known to be a pretty quiet, safe place in general. And, if you work in West or North Little Rock, your commute won't be too bad.
I prefer West Little Rock because it's closer to a lot more. I'm only 3 miles away from work and 6 miles away from school. And it's surprisingly quiet, considering that it's in the middle of a lot of activity.

Really depends on what you are looking for. West Little Rock is very typical suburbia. The main roads and lined with chain stores and restaurants, most of which close at 8 or 9pm. After this, it would be pretty quiet as all of the nightlife is closer to downtown. Unfortunately West Little Rock is getting hit the hardest by the current economic conditions as empty to near empty strip malls are becoming commonplace.
