Pathetic Question
I feel so pathetic just asking this question. I just moved to Conway in February and am in the process of getting divorced. The last 5 years while I was married, my ex husband kept me away from everyone, family and friends, and didn't let me go out and meet new ppl unless he already knew them. So, needless to say, I'm not that great with new ppl anymore. All of my old friends live in Springfield, Missouri and while my parents are great and my kids and I love being around them, for a 23 year old woman, I just feel so lonely sometimes. It's just really hard throwing myself back into working for the first time in 5 years and sending my kids to daycare, and not having anyone to hang out with but the fam and just have some fun w/ ppl my age. Anyone have any good suggestions on where I can go and meet some new, decent friends down here?

A while back, in a thread here called, "How to Meet People and Make Friends in Texarkana", another soul asked that question.
Now, your in Conway, and she was in Texarkana, but same guidelines apply.
Let me try this:

Look for my post, #2, and we'll go from there.

Library?
Coffee shop?
community organization you believe in?
Park?
Event at UCA that is open to the public?
Go volunteer somewhere.
If your kids are school age, attend a PTA meeting or something. Volunteer in their classroom.
Are you working? You might be able to make a friend or two at work.
Even a simple walk might spark conversation if you run into someone...
BTW: You are not pathetic and this isn't a pathetic question.

I am not in a bad marriage, but haven't made any new friends since my son was born, and have actually lost a few (baby I guess?). He's 21 months old now, I'm 22. If you're ever in Little Rock you are welcome to visit or meet somewhere. How old are your kids? A playdate may be possible. We go to Conway some, but I have no clue on where to meet people, lol. I'm not a socialite, wish I were better. Feel free to PM me.

We have found local meetup groups to be extremely beneficial in meeting folks (like meetup.com)
We travel a lot so whenever we move, we always look up groups to join and have met some very nice friends to hang out with.
