I cant stress it enough that I agree very much with everyone else that your parents needs to stay away from Pine Bluff. NWA is a great place for your parents to stay!!!!

Not Crime Bluff! I would say Searcy and Conway are great places for retirees. Searcy has a local Church of Christ college that keeps that town pretty conservative. It has the small town feel, but it isn't too small. They have a wonderful hospital there and beautiful parks and recreation places. Conway is a bit larger, but it is closer to Little Rock and closer to places that serve alcohol.

It's amazing how no one talks about this in Pine Bluff:
"WHITE HALL, Ark. (AP) — The Pine Bluff Arsenal is in the final years of disposing of chemical weapons stored at the site. incineration of mustard gas scheduled to be complete in November 2011."
"Once the chemical weapons are gone, the arsenal will need another 2½ years to decommission the incinerator and related facilities."

Pine Bluff has a bad reputation, but I don't think it's entirely warranted. I know some people from there and I haven't heard too many complaints. The only bad things I've experienced in my visits is sometimes a bad smell from the paper mill, and once I got in trouble with the cops at a concert at the convention center when I was 16. I kind of had that coming, though.

These are the types of posts that people looking for a new home should be weary of. Pine Bluff is a dangerous place and its reputation is entirely warranted. A brief Google search will provide more accurate information, such as it was listed the most dangerous metropolitan area in the country in 2008. It was listed number one (in the whole country) for a reason. And the property crime levels in Pine Bluff are much higher than Arkansas's average level.

I think you mean "wary".
And yes, you are right. EVERYONE IN PINE BLUFF IS IN GRAVE DANGER. Including my ex-SIL's wonderful grandmother, who runs the historical museum there, which includes lots of items from the generations of their family who have grown up in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County.
Yeah, whatever.

No, I meant weary:
Having one's interest, forbearance, or indulgence worn out.

Where did I say this? Please quote it. Or is this the same scenario as before where you will recant and say that it was implied.
It's amazing that you know some people from there and you haven't heard too many complaints. Do they live in a cocoon. (Rhetorical).
Pine Bluff's reputation is notorious. Do not sugarcoat it.
