It's called "hyperbole". Maybe you should look that up, too.
I've recanted nothing.

Conway is a great town. The place was my first introduction into the South when I went to UCR in 2001. At first, I was hesitant about going to Arkansas, or the South in general, because of all the stories my dad told me about him growing up in Oklahoma under "Jim Crow". Instead I found Conway to be an unbelievably friendly town. And I realized that racial friction is actually a lot worse up here in Wisconsin, especially between urban and suburban. Yet in Conway, I rented a nice apartment in the modern northwest part of town. Neighbors would actually talk to me. Store merchants would actually start up conversations with me. People would say hello when I jogged in the morning. Another thing I liked was Conway's low cost of living (except groceries, which are more expensive than here in Wisconsin). However, Conway had some negatives factors, and those factors pushed me to move back up north. Jobs are fewer and wages are lower in Conway. Just finding a descent part time job was a challenge. (I didn't want to commute to L.R. just for a low paying job) Also, there would be little opportunity in Conway, and Arkansas in general, after my schooling ended. So after a year, I was forced to move back to Madison, finish school, and eventually land a job in my field. But I did enjoy Conway. I think it would make a nice place for retirement or a second home.

In retirement magazine Conway was picked as one of the best places in the country to retire, it also was sighted (in one publication) as a great place to raise a family.
