Best place to live in Arkansas
My parents are looking to relocate to Arkansas. Any info you can give me would be most welcome. They enjoy visiting museums, etc. and having fun things to do when they want to but also enjoy quiet living, does not have to be in a senior environment. Important for them to have nearby good quality medical services as they do have medical issues that sometimes require emergency care and they dont want to be so far away that it would take them a while to get there. They have their eye on Pine Bluff. Any info would be great. Thanks.

There are a lot of nice places in Arkansas for seniors. Little Rock is not that bad, Bentonville, Hot Springs are probably better in terms of other seniors.
Pine Bluff is bad...very bad. The crime rate is high.

Fayetteville is a wonderful town, with lots of amenities for a town of its size, and Bella Vista started out as a place for seniors. The NW Arkansas area in general is pretty and pleasant.

I would post this on the AR forum, not the Little Rock, you will get a better and most cross view opinions.

I would agree with your assessment exactly: Fayetteville, BV or maybe Bentonville, but Bentonville can feel like a company town sometimes.

Please do not let them go to Pine Bluff. Check out Holiday Island, AR for sure. Hot Springs Village, AR. Eureka Springs, AR and the Fayetteville, AR suburbs. Fayetteville is a college town but the suburbs would be more ideal for them i would think. Fayetteville and Eureka Springs is close to Branson Missouri. That would be a great playground for your parents =) Hope that helps

Have them consider NWA as well. If it weren't for our granddaughter we would never have found Bella Vista. She was a jr at UA when she suggested we come and look here. Yes, it has lots of retired people but is becoming a very popular area for the family oriented people as well. We get the best of both worlds: rural living with all the conveniences we need like entertainment, medical facilities, churches, shopping, whatever. Hot SPrings village is similar, but behind gates, so it is a little more controlled. We did not want that.

My Advice - Stay away from Pine Bluff
Please accept this in good faith...Pine Bluff is a dried up economically deprived town now days.
If they enjoy any cultural events plus fun to do things AND need access to quality healthcare...my advice would be in the outlying areas of Little Rock...such as Benton or Bryant.
Thiving economically with small town feel, yet only 20 minutes to Little Rock and great healthcare...Saint Vincent's Hospital is ranked in the top 5% in the nation for quality healthcare ( I work there, so I know)
Hot Spings is only 30 miles or so from LR with lots of fun things to do!
I hope this helps you to help your parents! If you have further questions or opinions from me, you can contact me on this site or janelair31@gmail.com
Hope to hear from you soon and good luck to your parents
