Hi,
We(me and my wife) are moving to Little rock to start our new jobs at UAMS. We would intially be renting for a few months but would definately want to buy a house in the little rock area.
We are both in out late 20's . Would love to live in an area, with an an urban feel to it, within walking distance to shopping, restraunts, fitness clubs . We like pedestrain traffic ,museums and such.
Not particularly big on night life .
Can some one kindly suggest area's in little rock which would fit out taste/budjet . I am looking to spend about 200-250K for a 3 bedroom/2 bath.
Also any recomendations for excellent realtors in the area will be much appreciated
Thx in advance.

Hillcrest and The Heights. Look around Kavanaugh Blvd and Markham. Very close to UAMS.

crime is relatively low in those areas and there are a ton of homes on nthe market right now in that range. I get listings every day with 3/2 homes, 1300-1800 sq feet, 200-225K. Prices in that area are down quite a bit.

Argenta area in NLR. They have some energy efficient homes in the area, you have access to the trolley and the buses. You're also within walking distance to a library, restaurants, shops, and hopefully there will soon be a locally owned grocery store in the area. There is a Farmer's Market every Saturday morning.

Ridgeway, Midland, and Crystal Court have some of the most beautiful homes, but may be out of your price range, I'm not sure.

Anywhere around Alsopp Park would be very nice: Beechwood, Fairview, Lookout. I really love that area.

Kavanaugh, especially between Cedar and Jackson, is where most of your shops and restaurants are, so keep that in mind.

Aren't, they, though? It's gotten to where I could actually afford to live there! Of course, the houses I could afford are for the most part the 2/1 bungalows, which really wouldn't work for us.

Looks like i may try to buy a place in hillcrest.
How does car parking work in hillcrest.Do most of the homes there have garages or is it street parking.
