Question Central High neighborhood

I am considering moving to Little Rock from South Carolina. We heard a lot of good things about the Central High School and one of my kids will like to attend Central High. Are there clean, safe apartment complexes within walking distance from Central High? Is it safe to walk back home after school gets over in the afternoon?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There aren't really too many apartment buildings in that area that I'm aware of. It is mostly older homes, though there may be some that have been divided into apartments. The neighborhood is undergoing a lot of restoration, but some areas are better than others, and some areas are still pretty rough.

Kids from all over the city go to Central High. Your son could ride the bus, if you don't find anything within walking distance.

Central is among the top rated public high schools in the nation, but you probably would not want to live in any of the apartments nearby. There are some nice older homes in the blocks just east of campus, but the rentals(especially apartments) in the area are kind of shady.
