Default Looking For Yakamein In Little Rock
I definately miss the cuisine back in New Orleans. Does anyone know where I can get YAKEMEIN (oriental noddle soup typically with eggs, shallots and meat ) here in Little Rock. I've been in LR for almost 2 years and no one seems to know what this dish is here:

I've concluded that maybe its just a regional food. I've been to chinese and vietnamese restaurants and they've never heard of it.

there is an asian market(sams I believe) on university & asher. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Default never mind asking an Asian
It's not real Asian food, and no contemporary immigrants are likely to know it. You might want to ask a soul food restaurant for it, because it looks like Black people have preserved the recipe.

My grandfather owned a restaurant back in the 30s, and served it there. This was in VA.
