Siv, I will step off into the doo-doo and tell you it's not what you're looking for - or most likely the neighborhood isn't. Things closer to downtown, such as the Argenta area, are making a comeback very slowly. The area around the Old Mill, Parkhill, and Lakewood is very nice (off JFK)...past that, it's sort of like downtown Little Rock - there's a line of that which is being renovated and that which is not. This is not. I'm sure the North Little Rock-ers will eat my lunch, but I think I'd look somewhere else.

Default Be careful

I would be careful about that location. If you find a house near the Old Mill and near McArthur mall it would be safe, and it is actually a very nice area! But that is really ghetto and around north little rock there are gang wars between the bloods and crips and I wouldn't want to be caught up in that!

Sivant, that does not sound like a very good area at all! Unless you don't mind getting broken into regularly and hearing gunshots every night. If you want to live on the northside of the river, look a little further north...atleast look for areas north of Interstate 40!

That area is definitely NOT where you want to reside. I personally grew up in the Park Hill area and my parents still live there. The Lakewood area around Mccain Mall is also nice. You could also definitely check out Sherwood!

Default thanks

thanks for the replies.

It is a shame, it seemes like a nice house, and I hoped, since the violent crime rate reported by the nlrpd was low, that this would be a decent area.

Default Gang Bagin'

Hey Siv, just try to go to your local movie rental store and watch gang bangin' in Little Rock. There is a major gang rival between the bloods and crips in North Little Rock and it is very very dangerous. There may be a low crime rate inj that neighborhood because they may go to the richer neighborhoods in little rock. I know my sister in law has gotten her car stolen twice in really nice neighborhoods! I live in Conway, and to be honest, I am moving! Conway is just terrible! There is nothing to do here in Arkansas unless you go out of state!! I am being honest! Little Rock is the best in Arkansas, but still if you are not rich, a church freak!! (they all look down on you an are hypocrites), a drug head, go to a college here, or a hillbilly just don't move to Arkansas!!! Take my advice now!

Hubbard, are you related to hubcap and junkman? Just curious.

Cars get stolen every day, everywhere....I would NOT equate that to gang bangin'. Sorry - that's not considered violent crime.

If you can't find anything to do, you obviously need more urban stimulation...I hope you find it....and I am neither a drug head, a church freak, a hillbilly, or in college - certainly not rich, and yet I have managed to carve out quite a nice life for myself. Wonder how I did it in the midst of all this backward lifestyle without a gang affilitation? Lucky, I guess.

Again - this is a conservative state. Why in the world you would want to make it otherwise is beyond me, since there are so many locations that cater to your obviously upscale lifestyle. Why people are flocking to Conway I will never understand - like, isn't indoor plumbing just getting there?

HELLLOOOO.......people are coming here FOR the slower pace. If it ain't your thang, move on. Give me a break - you are bustin' on people for seeking a simpler life that isn't full of bars, theater productions, bright lights, and casinos.....oooooh.....maybe we ARE hillbillies......

Good luck in your new locale, and may it be the utopia you look for.
