Hello ladies and sirs

I am going to be getting masters in design in London this autumn and was wondering what could be a good place for me to live. I was living near Bayswater at some point and i really liked the neighbourhood but its a little bit on the expensive side and a bit too far as well. Is there a nice quite area, possibly with a park nearby not too far from Elephants Castle? I heard that elephants castle itself isn't a good neighbourhood at all, so it should be within 30-45 minutes cycling distance i d say.

I am looking to flat share for around 700-750gbp during first months, so seems like i have quite a few options, just not sure where should i settle.

Any ideas?

I live in Elephant & Castle (recently moved from Walworth 5 mins away) and though its not the best area to live in I haven't heard any gun shots, seen any dead bodies or such so don't be scared by silly people telling you its a ghetto or such.

I'd say the "best" place close to Elephant & Castle is Kennington, there's a big park (kennington park) and the Northern line goes straight through the district.

Kennington is literally 1 minute from Elephant & Castle.

Neighbouring Walworth is ok in parts and is the cheapest area in inner London so check that out. Many students seem to live in the area recently.

I'd say Walworth is a bit more down market from Kennington.
