Hi everyone,
I will be doing an internship in London this summer. This means I had to apply for a Tier 5 "temporary worker" visa, and part of the application asked me about my accommodation and specifically where I will stay.

My company specifically warned me not to agree to taking any flat until I arrived in the city. I was going to try AirBNB for the first 3-4 days, until I found a place to stay. but then I made the huge mistake of contacting several hosts and asking them if I could use their flat's address on my visa application, and then changing my address once I found a permanent flat. Unsurprisingly (?) they all rejected my request and in this way I managed to lose out on the chance to stay at 3 or 4 lovely places close to my work. X( (No Good deed goes unpunished right?)

Now I am thinking about just making a request the normal way and not telling the host that I would put their address on my application, but this seems a bit unethical. At the same time, I don't know if UK Immigration is going to check it all that carefully.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this before? If I use AirBNB would showing just a confirmation or receipt from the website be enough? Or would I need to get a letter of invitation from the host? Should I just suck it up and get a hotel?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

No it isn't. You're the customer, you are paying to stay in room. No airbnb vendor has the right to play detective, it's none of their business!

They don't, unless you appear suspicious.

Yes.

Fyi, how do you plan on funding this? That is the main question imigration will ask.

Doesn't sound like much fun to me. A vacation would be cheaper & more enjoyable.
