It wouldn`t be fair of me to say I hate London because I don`t.,,BUT,,I have to visit the place a few times a year for the sake of business. I stay with friends and have a good time for a few days..Visiting is one thing. To have to live there would most certainly be my idea of hell...
I've never lived there but used to stay with my boyfriend every other weekend... would love to do so for a couple of years, I'd not settle there though, just because I'd want to settle in the country. I'd miss the stars after a while....
I lived in London for all of 2006. I did not like it, though this may have had a lot to do with my high expectations. Londoners are extremely class conscious(eg- they constantly place each other based on accent) and can be very difficult to work with (it can be very hard to get their opinion on a work matter, for example.) London can be very expensive, and londoners put up with terrible services (some subway lines are a joke.)
Having said that, London can be extremely cool. There are a ton of things to do. And londoners are the most diverse crowd I have seen(I have lived in 9 countries).
I think you would need to learn to appreciate London in its own unique way. Then you would love it.
