With history I meant modern infrastructure, roads and buildings. The Native Americans didn't build such things before the whites came. That history of America is only a few centuries old. So not older than the 17th century. Enough said.
Wow, what a completely ignorant statement. Many native american cultures had roads, buildings, and complex irrigation infrastructure. Read up on the Mayans, Aztecs, Inca, Anasazi, pueblo indians, etc etc If you're only referring to "modern" roads, buildings, etc... than the history of london is only a few centuries old as well.
To answer the thread: it's a wash, depending on what you are looking for, but overall I'd say they're actually quite similar cities in terms of what they have to offer.

Anybody that says london is better than new york is just trying to be different. Its not even a contest. LDN is dull and boring. NYC is vibrant and exciting. New yawk is the number 1 city in the world..............Ldn is number 2

I agree, there is not that many things in london that is not in NYC
Wouldn't say London is dull and boring. There are some frustrating things about it. I guess one major thing it has over anywhere and one of the reasons I'm here is that it is so close to so many great places in Europe. It's a great place but there are some strange things about it. Like Boris has banned drinking on the tube. I'm thinking "finally". Until I arrived here I didn't know of anywhere in the world you could get schloshed on the way to getting schloshed. It's a wonderful city though.
When my time's done in London before I return to Australia I would love to spend a couple of years in New York. Could never bring myself to support the yankees though.
While I would choose NY over London, I can't imagine why anyone would consider London dull and boring. It has magnificent museums, parks, restaurants, theater just to name a few of its attractions.
