Well I see quite a few Indian officers in some parts of the UK. In fact I was interviewed by an Indian Hindu Detective, turban and all. They usually arrest, the Indian gang banging kids, as they do the drug dealers and corrupt and criminal entrepreneurs/business men.

Well I wouldn't regard the jobs you mention as being any better than the police force, and what's with the comment about drinking habits?

Anyway, to answer the question, yes there are some minorities in the police force, but I reckon it's a small proportion.

Fair comment given how much time police spend dealing with pub and club chucking out time. Or it could just be the casual racism prevalent among a minority of certain Asian minorities. Once saw a Sikh copper complete with turban instead of helmet, and the fact I remember him as being unusual probably says a lot.

Hey TylerJAX, don't take a shot at the native population of the country-white British. You point out their drinking habits, yet they are the ones who gave you the opportunity to be in their country and get a high-paying, respected job. If you are going to proclaim yourself as an Indian Hindu in London, then RESPECT where you live. Remember, they gave you the opportunity to live there and you better be grateful.

It has the most liberal populace, with the most right wing cab drivers, about black cabs: London cabbies are skilled workers,they have to study the geography of London for about 3 years before you get a licence: they are expensive but worth the money.

Police should be hired based on ability, not quota. What ever happened to everyone being equal?

Cabs are cheap in London compared to the rest of the world, and honest. What I noticed the most was that the cab drivers, if native English, were better educated than the average American citizen. I also noticed that the East Indians were more British than the British. From the news lately, I see the ethnic mix is going south (American slang).
