News, "Give pees a chance" student may face jail.
LONDON (Reuters) - A university student who was photographed urinating over a war memorial was warned on Wednesday that he could be jailed for the "disgusting act."
Philip Laing, 19, was charged by police after the picture, which showed him urinating on a poppy wreath following a drinking session in the center of Sheffield, appeared on a national newspaper's website.

better still send him to Afghanistand for a month then see how he acts

I wouldn't say that being a student equals being a sponger - nor would I send him to prison.. what would be the point of that? I would however hope that the university he attends takes disciplinary action against him, and I'm sure the local police will use the full extent of whatever the fines are for public urination. |

it's not just any old poppy thing, this memorial is taken very serious and is a very emotional thing in Britain. And at this time of year... He picked the worst possible place and time to do this and should be punished but maybe by doing community service work...let him clean some urine stained walls for a while...
