Personally when I work overtime, I truly earn it. Are you all so stupid?? Are you all so "dumbed down" that you don't care where these town tax dollars go? Do you think he's the only one doing this? Do you realize that Islip's supervisor, Phil Nolin tried in vain a few years ago to save his taxpayers $250K in one year by revolking the use of 36 employee's use of town trucks to drive back and forth from home to work, only to have this corrupt unions' leaders reverse this decision? Does it really matter that this jerk has personally done me as a neighbor as well? Shouldn't you be outraged by his actions without considering what my motives are? Don't worry bloggers, I'll take care of things on my end. Who really cares what my motives are here, but rather the fact that this guy is ripping all of us off here. I'm not causing this man to do this, he's doing this behavior all by himself. I'll keep you posted as to what develops in the future. Those of you who were supportive to me, Thank you. And those of you that were critical, oh well, all I can say is it's apathetic residents like you that continuously allow big government to take advantage of us. No wonder this country is in the shape it's in.

And two months after your last post, you've spoken to the police, videotaped this guy doing what you said, and taken your evidence to the proper authorities, right?

Thank you for your advice. We're doing just what you advised. When our gas prices skyrocket again this summer to almost $5/gal., we'll see how many "complacent" residents think this abuse of the privilege is ok. We'll keep you posted.

Town Truck for personal use
For all of you that were following my threads for the past couple of years, I'd like to inform you that at some of your urging to report this, a formal complaint was filed with the Town of Huntington on May 29th, 2012. Along with this complaint, they also received a few DVD's of video proof of over 80 incidents of being on "emergency" on call overtime with his town truck being used instead to drive his son to sports games, using the truck to dump his grass clipping bags each week, or have a possible town snowblower delivered to his home with the town truck for his personal use. Well, the Town hired an outside attorney Jim Clark to handle this investigation in order to prevent a conflict of interest.
To make a long story short, despite all this video proof and written dateline, over 5 months later this employee has still been allowed to do his overtime and bring home his town truck without skipping a beat. When I asked for an update on this investigation, I was told that they had to be careful to protect the employee's civil and union rights. What about the taxpayers rights to make sure the town is spending their money the right way? What investigation with time-stamped video proof would take this long to perform? If nothing else, why wouldn't the town at least not grant this man any more overtime until this matter was fully investigated?
If any of you would like to ask the Town Supervisor Petrone what's going on with this investigation, please feel free to call and ask. The employee works for the Dix Hills Water authority. If any of you would like to see any of those dvd's, you have a right to fill out a FOIL request about this. If they refuse you, please contact me. I'd be more than happy to show you. I have a feeling that alot of upper adminstration jobs might be on the line here and would like this matter to go away. After all, who was signing off on all this "bogus" overtime?
Wake up taxpayers, aren't you tired of all this corruption? We have the right to stop this misuse and demand answers even at the local level. It's in the small government stage that this starts, and then these same crooks get elected to even higher governmental positions and so on.

Whoa...wha....wait...taxpayers have RIGHTS?
Can someone please confirm this? I've been walking funny for years now, and with recent developments, Preparation H is in short supply. Have I been mislead?

Hey AtaGirl Have you tried to email Mr Eugine Cook and Mark Myota the two council members who stand up against the democratic majority? I know Mr Cook ran with a promise to have term limits and to look after the tax payers interests.
