I've experienced worse at Robert Moses. It's all about finding a good location. I don't want to go into detail but my worse beach experience was at Hampton Bays. After going there last July 4, I wouldn't mind a little Samba, Reggaeton, Bhangra, Hip-hop or any other ethnic music you find offensive.

I'd rather pay $15 to get on a beach than go to a "free" one like Jones and have to deal with all the dirtbags that go there. Same with Fire Island/Ocean Beach --- I'd rather pay $25 for the ferry for me & my child and know I'm going to a very clean, safe beach. (I went to Jones a couple of years back and it was disgusting --- the beach and the pool --- I will never go there again)

I agree about Jones Beach, it used to be nice years ago but is now like a city beach. Of course if they'd enforce the no radio rules and no littering it would help.
Robert Moses is much better though. And Kismet is only a short walk from field 5.

I wonder how much of that would go away if INS agents started patrolling Jones Beach?

I live in Long Beach, paid for the $50 family pass and I've been at the beach about 40+ times this summer already. It's a great deal for residents, but if you don't live in Long Beach, you are better off going to a town beach or Jones beach.

You can get in free if you go to Long Beach before 9am or after 6pm.

Also, what is this "Queens Element" that was mentions? I'm not sure if you are paying attention, but the Queens & City Element is getting better than the Long Island element.... The City is getting so Gentrified, Long Island is becoming the land for only the Rich and the Poor that are the Rich's servants.

Word from the wise, don't pay attention to Kayfouroh. She puts Long Beach down in every single thread about Long Beach. I'm sure she will respond to this, but I just ignore her hatred.

I'm not female

Just because you don't agree with my opinion doesn't make it any less applicable. It's not like I'm making up things saying that LB takes your first born before you can even walk on the beach. I'm stating that $15 per person is a large price hike from a few years ago and that it's ridiculous. Also, their "parking enforcement" drives around on the boardwalk like it's a parking lot.

Trust me, Long Beach is not god's gift to man that you always try to make it out to be. Nowhere is.

Oh, aren't you the guy that complained about "outsiders" DYING in Long Beach because they didn't know how to swim so they should stay out of your waters?

edit: YOU ARE!

Yes, just recently I went to a booty call in Washington Heights. I took the LIRR and the subway. A major difference between the two. The railroad was somewhat dirty and the seats were soiled and in need of repair and the patron were rowdy and boisterous. Different story on the subway, clean, a bit crowded but no cellphone noises (probably because we were underground) and all conversations were kept within earshot of the listener. All ethnic groups seem to be well behaved, even the kids. At the Ronk Rail I noticed some commuters wanting to "show off," in Washington Heights people were much more subdued and just going about their business. Makes me wonder.
