Before it was Bob's clothing store...
Does anyone remember the name of the club in West Islip where Bob's is now sitting. The one on Higby Lane, North of Sunrise. I was told there was a shooting about 25 years ago.

Before Chevy's it was Hammerheads which was quite a dive.By 10pm the Men's room was overflowing into Ladie's Room. Before that it was Korvettes and just east of that was Hamptons dept Store.

When was that shopping center built?
The reason I ask is because that Chuckie Cheese was definitely not there when I was a little kid (early-mid 1990s) nor was West Marine, All4Sports, etc and the little strip mall with the tanning salon, Quiznos, and Tom Baraga's office is pretty recent as well. McDonald's wasent even there until the early 1990s.

Wasn't it originally Jahn's Ice Cream Parlour...right next to Korvettes? I thought Korvettes was always just Korvettes.

Korvettes
I don't recall an ice cream store.I believe Korvettes was free standing.Hamptons was where Atlantic Auto Mall is and to it's right was an A&P. Hamptons had one of those Auotmat food dispensers in the entrance. It was a long wall with coin deposits which would dispense slices of cake/apple pie and sandwiches.Mmmmm..must've been real fresh.
As for a shooting in Chevys? I do recall a fatal shooting in parking lot possibly involving a bouncer.

Not related to this thread, but the Bob's in Selden used to be Child World, the best toy store when I was a kid. Now I feel old. Sorry for threadcrapping.

Chuckie Cheese and McDonalds opened there in about the late 90's. We had my sons 4th birthday party at Chuckie's and that was the last time we did that. lol. I remember having the worst head-ache afterwards from all the noise and screaming.
