If you feel Long Islanders are rude, why did you start a thread here? Are you a glutton for punishment.

If you want to see rude, come up here to VT. The locals say they aren't rude, they're "reserved". They will be nasty to you just because the past seven generations of your family didn't live in VT.

I lived on LI for about 48 years and I have never witnessed or heard of anyone snubbing a new neighbor. I didn't realize how friendly LIers were until I moved away.

On Ave. C in the lower east side there is a little Puerto Rican or maybe Cuban bakery that would take a buttered roll and put it in a press like a panini. Can you say "to die for"?

I agree, the microwave always seems to ruin the bread. Taste much better cold.

I like it rubbery but with the cheese melted nice and good...
Actually, after a night of binge drinking, just about any leftovers will do.

In Florida we went into a 7-11 looking for a buttered roll and they said you must be from NY. They don't have buttered rolls in Florida

There are Kaiser rolls and then there are Kaiser rolls.

The crust of a true Kaiser roll flakes when you eat it.

I never buy buttered rolls or bagels at 7-11. I've seen the workers butter the rolls without gloves, after handling money at night. It's not packaged daily like the sandwiches through a national distibutor, it's clearly regional.

Is that better Nancy? Sorry I didn't realize that term was racist. Forgive me.
