Am moving to Long Island and have 3 of 4 kids on IEP's, and one child in private therapeutic school, related to anxiety in the big class and school. Husband will be getting the train from Huntington station, but will travel to the station within a 10-15 mile radius. What school districts would best be able to fit our needs. Currently live in a wealthy town where special education is not discussed among parents of typical kids and have had to fight for all services which is ongoing, despite outside recommendations- you know that is the drill anywhere.
Oldest child needs placement in private therapeutic school, has ADHD but hugh issue with SPD; advice about Vincents in Port Washington or any other recommendations

Based on the limited information you provided, I'd say Half Hollow Hills (#5) is your best bet. They have comprehensive, well established programs, and will refer out where necessary without a fight!

My sister was thinking of moving out of Massapequa but decided to stay until my niece (special needs) is out of school. She said they have great services there.

SPD is sensory processing disorder, previously called sensory integration dysfunction/disorder.

We are moving from out of state to Long Island so we are trying to figure out your school districts/towns/hamlets and where you exactly live according to your zip code.
My husband plans to commute to the city from Huntington Station; we had heard that around the station is alittle unsafe and we were recommended to look in the Huntington school district areas such Northport, Half Hollow Hills. Anyone recommend any of the other schools within this district
I am also in need of recommendations for a good children's psychiatrist, psychologist who does CBT(cognitive behavior therapy)and neuropsychologist.
Anyone have recommendation for therapeutic schools near Huntington?
