Default Former Home Depot building in Patchogue

Does anyone know what’s going to be in that building? It’s on Sunrise Hwy service road, east of Rt 112 in Patchogue. I believe it used to be Home Depot.

The western half (the one with the curved entrance) is confirmed to be Raymour & Flanigan. The eastern half of it is supposedly a supermarket (I've heard ShopRite) but has yet to be confirmed.

My research indicates that is Serota Properties in the owner of this land. Raymour is confirmed, ShopRite's bid was considered unreasonable, and they supposedly weren't that intrested.

If Shoprite's bid was unreasonable by property owner standards, that is because low margin businesses can not absorb outrageous rents and maintanance costs.
But hey, as long as the property owner can either find someone else or has the means and ability to afford having half the land vacant, more power to them.

I vote we make it a huge roller skating rink/paintball/laser tag place. We've got enough furniture stores and supermarkets. Also, I'd vote for a WalMart. I just don't understand why Patchogue doesn't have one of these yet?

That's odd. I didn't think Serota owned that? Because I know they also owned Swan Commons (where Shoprite originally was semi-interested in.) Last I saw, didn't Ripco own the HD area? Did they sell it?

Because Town of Brookhaven shot them down when they proposed them. They wanted to build one in East Patchogue anew, and it ain't happening.

It is Shoprite, according to the Town of Brookhaven (entry #2 is the relevant zoning board plan): http://brookhaven.org/Forms.aspx?Com...d&EntryId=3463

Thank god. Shoprite is so much better than Pathmark it isn't even funny.
