Yea , NJT and the MNRR have added about 300 miles of New or Restored Track this past decade and Electrified at least 60 miles of trackage. The NJT line to Scranton will be built in phases , and it will be extended to Binghamton / Syracuse later on by Amtrak. A Branch form Binghamton to Elmira is also in the works.

That's great news for Binghamton. Whatever they can do to boost their economy is great.. I went to college up there and they need whatever help they can get. I'm not sure if this is the answer but it's a start.

Rolemodel, the Tanger Outlets in DP doesn't have a stop, but they do have a shuttle (free, I think) that will take you back and forth between the train station and the mall.

It's about accessibility and affordability. Why doesn't the LIRR have a stop at Sunrise Mall? Because it isn't feasible with how the tracks are laid out. Bus transit is available however! It's a small mall and the longevity of establishments within the mall is short lived!

It would be a good idea, plus there would be much more parking at the mall than what is available at Mass Pk (which would be closed...its too close to Massapequa).

The Deer Park station would actually only be a 5 minute walk or so from Tanger, but there's no walkway and fences are in the way. Typical LI planning.

Because this mall sucks. LIRR would rather keep the Mall Element off their trains.

It's also a 5-minute walk from Amityville station, what the heck is the big deal??? It would cost a fortune to build another station in between what is already a short stop btwn mass park & Amityville. I just don't get why people are so damn lazy...

the mall is underrated too imho - everybody relax sheesh, if you don't like it, don't go there.

Nope, havent been by that spot recently. I really dunno why these ppl are dissing Sunrise, it seems like a much quieter, peaceful alternative to the ruckus at Roosevelt Field. Plus I can actually AFFORD to buy things here.

Okay, maybe I was mistaken.. It was near a red-light cam too, I know you like to do the red light cam vids and the person matching your description was oddly scoping the area (seemed like something you don't see everyday). Yeah, I mean all those stores are the same BS in Roosevelt Field. The only dump is Walmart, but what element is in RF that is so much better than any other mall?? I see lots of thugs at RF and every other mall.

Nope, the only place I was in Massapequa shooting video was in Massapequa Preserve, and that was in late September.
