I miss the days of being able to drive to the Smithtown Highway department and getting a bundle each weekday for a week. All you needed to do was bring your tax bill. I had to spring for a box of drum liners at BJ's, $17.49.

Now, it would be really great if they came with a truck and a vacuum to scoop them right off the street like they do in some parts of Nassau!

And if they did they would have to charge more taxes to cover the expense.

Cost of the leaf-sucker-upper mobile
Cost of union mechanics to service leaf-sucker-upper mobile
Cost of union drivers to operate leaf-sucker-upper mobile
Cost of additional union supervisors and middle management to tell leaf-sucker-upper operators how and when to operate leaf-sucker-upper.
What's a few million between taxpayers?

My town switched to biodegradable bags this year, never used the plastic ones they droped off in previous years to bag leaves. Used them to store summer and winter clothing. Do not know what I am going to do with this years bags.

When it comes to leaves, the lord put them there the lord will take them away.
