Has anyone requested the town of oyster bay to remove the trees in front of their homes? I have requested mine to be removed back in July and was told that it would be done within 30-90 working days. Today is day 94 and the trees are still there.

When I called the town they said the work order is with the contractor and they will be scheduling it. Does anyone know who the contractor is so i can call and bug them.

The roots of the tree grow into the sewer line and causes the water to backup and flood in my basement. This has happened to us twice already and is our responsibility even though the town planted the trees in a bad location.

Please help!

My thoughts exactly. Put on the letter that you are cc:ing your homeowner's insurance company. Phone calls get you no where with this kind of stuff.

I had a tree in front of my house in Garden City and I used to send the village a letter every year asking them to take it down. Every year they'd send me a letter back saying there was nothing wrong with the tree. And every year I filed their letter away with my homeowner's policy dec page.

LIPA subs out their work to Asplundh - don't know if the municipalities do as well. With all the wind damage we've been having, they might be backlogged. Here's a link to their site:

Asplundh

If the Town does indeed use them, maybe you want to give them a call - squeeky wheels often get results...
