LOL there's your answer then ; Dix Hills properties are listed as "Dix Hills" on the tax site...

Don't know if you want to "enlighten" them, or maybe they just don't like people to know "where they really live".

Elke, since Huntington Station and Dix Hills "share" the 11746 ZIP Code, any guess as to how the Town of Huntington differentiates between them?

That's an excellent question, Walter! I don't know the answer, but I may just try to find out
Maybe they go by SD? HHH does not include areas in Huntington Station or South Huntington...

Huntington Station, no; South Huntington, yes.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Half Hollow Hills Central School District includes all or part of the Hamlet of Dix Hills, the Hamlet of Deer Park, the Hamlet of Wheatley Heights, the Hamlet of Wyandanch, the Hamlet of East Farmingdale, the Hamlet of Melville, the Hamlet of West Hills and the Hamlet of South Huntington.

The Town of Huntington doesn't differentiate between Hunt. Station and South Huntington - they just call it "Hunt. Station", as the tax bills indicate. However, mailing address for postal purposes can be "South Huntington" if it's SOUTH of Jericho...

South Huntington is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address.

According to the Suffolk County Planning Department map, as used by the Census Bureau, places in the Hamlet of South Huntington have a "Huntington Station, NY 11746", "Dix Hills, NY 11746" and "Melville, NY 11747" mailing address.
