Still sticking with CSH for you, with Port Washington as a possible back-up...
Have had friends and clients in Pt. Washington for decades and lived in CSH for 17 yrs.

Default A map of the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District includes all or part of the Village of Lloyd Harbor, the Hamlet of Huntington, the Hamlet of Woodbury, the Village of Oyster Bay Cove, the Village of Laurel Hollow and the Hamlet of Cold Spring Harbor.

Nobody mentioned Great Neck? Nice downtown, large Jewish population, Best LIRR commute to the city (25 min). You may also be able to find something in the low end of Kings Point.

Not sure what the Daniel Gale website is. Id be using MLSLI.com for your home search..

That commute (LIRR time) is possible in Nassau. You forgot Nassau County and jumped straight out to Suffolk.

I was thinking Great Neck too. I'm sure you can get in there at those prices.

That's not what I meant... I meant that I didn't think anything hit our criteria closer west than in suffolk. I was under the impression that I couldn't get the land we were looking for in Port Wash or Great Neck. Also - as I'm researching I'm finding that I don't think we can get that w/in a 30-45 min commute in Westchester either. Also, the property taxes are a killer there...

.25 acres doesn't sound that ambitious in Nassau, especially with your property tax budget of 25k, i'm surprised no one has mentioned Jericho yet, one thing you do have to be aware of is that a 60-minute train ride can very easily translate into a 1 hour and 30 minutes door-to-door one way commute, if you are used to a city commute, you have some adjustment ot do, mentally and physically

^^^Yeah, I agree with that. I can think of plenty of towns, they just might not have a significant Jewish population.

Maybe it's time to talk to a realtor.
