How many Starbucks do they have in that town? One more wouldn't hurt!

Crazy as it seems, obviously its a case of what she craves, while she sits in her ivory tower.

I think I would be a little leary too when they start removing homes that buffer noise from businesses on Sunrise...especially an all night drive thru.
Hey now before Walter comes in we know that White Castle is technically in "East Massapequa!" And boy did I used to frequent that place for my WC fix!

It's hard to deny the crave every now n then. I got a 10 sack the other day and the woman threw in 2 free fries with the 10 little steamy burgers. Fridge life is approx 24 hrs though, anything longer than that and it's a treat for the pup. This WC is located in a good spot too, not in anyone's BACKYARD!

According to the US Census, it is in the hamlet of East Massapequa:

6207 Sunrise Hwy , Massapequa , New York, 11758:
PLACE: EAST MASSAPEQUA CDP
School District: AMITYVILLE UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Wow this is a banner day in the history of Nassau County, NY!

It has long been semi-written law that only three types of construction are permitted east of the New York City border: 1) single family, DETACHED homes 2) strip malls/box stores and 3) fast food restaurants. Though #2 has slowed in the last decade, gas stations and banks have become a troublesome emerging demographic.....which I'm sure Kate Murray and the all-star populist "people's" court of the Town of Hempstead are hard at work eradicating, just as they have finally trounced the scourge of neighborhood-ruining franchise eateries. This sends a clear message to anyone willing to invest in one of the NY Metro area's most heavily taxed, overpriced suburbs - DO NOT TRY AND BUILD HERE! We are America's largest municipal township, we have a larger population than several entire states and a higher population density than all but two American cities. What right does any family owned "corporation" have to RUIN A NEIGHBORHOOD that immediately borders our busiest non-limited access roadway?! White Castle would never attract the high caliber of clientele that neighbors of rustic, picturesque Sunrise Highway are accustomed to. This section is known for high brow, family oriented establishments like Jugs & Strokers, AutoZone, two different 7-11s, tanning salons, a Harley Davidson dealership....as well as many quaint, decaying abandoned or vacant buildings that are cherished community heirlooms. Plus, the noise from White Castle would be positively deafening!! It would drown out the comforting, thunderous roar of the LIRR whizzing by, emergency services vehicles and tire drone that local residents all cite as one of the area's most desirable traits. Like karl, I am anxiously awaiting Kate Murray's monthly three page foldout mailer detailing the gripping drama of how, when the chips were down - and the normal tactic of burying potential developers under a pile of legal fees and utterly pointless environmental impact studies failed - Kate and a coalition of 9 angry housewives stood firmly in the way of the zoning appeals process and let it be known that they will NOT have White Castle and their ilk bringing THE WRONG ELEMENT into the crown jewel of Nassau's Near-South Shore!!! The overextended taxpayers have spoken, and they've let it be known: if you're foolish enough to invest in Long Island, don't try MESSING with the suburb that's larger than Baltimore yet lacks the infrastructure to support a 24-hour drive thru!

What a trite commentary it seems to be, a hamburger joint there on main street Is there no other vent but to rail against White Castle, the chance to wind up in a fast-food
place in the wee hours of a morning without making your first television appearance a Court -TV special, a hole blown through a chest, a "misunderstanding" between rival gangs

or the dripping blood of another sidewalk understanding. I still remember a Cop in the Bronx whom went into WC to buy a burger or two, Some of the "locals" beat him unmercifully,
he bled from mouth, nose and ears. Those whom beat him were exhonorated, it was NYPD who shot and killd him s he satggered out to the parking lot in a daze and drew his weapon.
Yes, those thugs in that White Castle did their best to start this young family man up the darkly final road of death, it was the fellow officers, those young and underscooled "cadets"
that could not seperate the difference between life as it comes and "basic training" in a low-paying job for an agency that protects their own.

We come to this forum, and often hope to be understood by peers, those who often travel those similar roads, feel the same pressures, walk the same roads, cry the same tears.
Few in state incarcatio will hold us in an accounting, but still we seem to fear a presence of helpful honesty when e entertain an idea that perhaps, by our efforts, we just might turn
the neverending tide, change the world and redeem ourselves before we become that consigned box of dust or a porcelain urn, that will decorate a mantle-pace until we're offered up at
a lawn sale for little more than our value as the antiquated pottery, that we're sold for.

As time goes by, we'll all be required to "slim-down". Those who plan to stock their larders with canned asparagus wil be putting a bit more Campbell's bean and bacon soup. I'm
going to have to live with Schaefer beer instead of Bud. My grandchildren are going to get I.O.U's in their birthday cards, I'll be forced to start buying dime bags of pot rather than
quarters or halves. We used to reserve our Sunday afternoon for a sexual encounter, these days we get our sex with Fareed Zakaria, while we see how badly our failing politicians,
are politi-sodomizing us and mainly, how much more that we are willing and able to take. We've all made ourselves into doormats, so why shold we take any exception to being walked on?

We are nine days into a new year and I have not received a Kate-o-gram yet. I am not disappointed. Seeing her image plastered all over her mailings makes me sick to my stomach that she wastes out money on them.

I don't blame the Bellmore community for not wanting a Castle in their neighborhood. WC seems to attract drunk morons.

Does anyone have the exact address of the proposed WC? Gpsma wrote something about they were going to remove 4 homes from the site?

South of Sunrise you rarely hear the train. North you have to be right up against it pretty much. I agree they need to attract business, but if this is right up against 4 backyards, a 24-hr WC would destroy the sanity of the people at those properties.

Gas stations seem to be on a serious decline. 4 or 5 within a 2 mile radius closed by me in the last 2 years. I think it had to do with the costs of installing new tanks to comply with some new law.
