the wilkipedia entry for sonic now says at the very bottom the sonic will be opening their first ling island location in aprill 2011 on dpa in west babylon,and that it is the first of sveral planned long island locations,altohugh the future nassau and suffolk plans are tentative with no word on any particular areas,I hope the smithtown rumor comes to fruition I am form smithtown.
I went on sonics site but they don't acknowledge the new store.
there is a facebook page I discovered sonic of long island it shows pictures of the construction and updates and there is a rumor floating that april 25th is the grand opening and that nassau and suffolk each have 2 other locations in the works.
if you go on the facebook page and click on "like it" you can leave comments,I did about the the smithtown rumors and they responded with saying the smithtown rumors are true and they shouls break ground later this year,but did not mention an exact location.
I went by the one on DPA today to see the progress. It's ready to go and there is banner on the building that the employees are in training and it will be opening Monday (the 25th).
