When was the last time you heard of a jewel heist where the clerks were threatened when the perp pulled out a loaded car?

You won't miss your car not being able to go overr 55mph then too, right?

No, if everyboby is governed to 55 mph, its okay with me. Won't happen because cars should be capable of going over 55 mph in case of an emergency, like the next time you shoot your mouth off.

I have guns, BTW.
Plenty of robberies without using guns.

And in case of an emergency I should be able to have a 30rnd magazine. If its sitting in my home and being used at the range it'll be just fine. Maybe instead of trying to ban "scary parts" they should focus on making sure the current laws are being followed, which apparently they weren't.

Then again, life would be so much simpler if they just oulawed crime. Then everyone wouldn't commit crimes.

Anything can be used to kill, knives, cars, baseball bats.

Since this is about a LI Congressman, I would assume it would stay on LI.
There is a legit defense purpose to owning a gun, I will agree to that. However, to have something that shoots off 30 rounds, there is no defense purpose whatsoever to that.

Says who? Gut feeling. Show proof that 30rnd magazines are a significant portion of gun crime, considering the top 5 guns used are 7 rounds or less.

I didn't say it is used in most gun crime. I said no defense purpose exists to it that a 10 round magazine would not be able to protect against.

So you think that police should not be carrying over 10 round magazines? They would be dealing with the same criminal element.

The police should, but I don't think an ordinary citizen should.

Why is that? Again, they are dealing with the same criminal element.

Well for starters they are cops, it's part of their job. Secondly, training is a big part of it. Not to mention citizens don't take part in raids (unless they are the ones getting raided).

Its one thing for a private citizen to be able to arm themselves for self-defense. Its a completely different story to arm them in the same manner a cop or the Military are armed.
