Yes, that sounds about par for the course.

Brentwood's also got its own El Salvadore consulate:

Brentwood, NY 11717
Jurisdiction: Connecticut and New York (Long Island)

Note it is separate from the NYC one in the areas it serves:

That is really a shame. Even up until the 90s it was a nice middle class area, now it is a third world country.

Used to be decent in the 90s. I remember visiting Radio Station WXBA at the Brentwood H.S. back in 1995 or so. Now I wouldn't set foot near that school. The student involvement in the radio station seems to have declined whenever I get a chance to listen, probably because most of them dont speak english. I sure hope they can keep the station going...at least they haven't caved into the illegals as there is no programming en espanol yet..

Probably because of all the breeding...

Yup, I know. I remember how decent the school was when I visited WXBA 88.1 for a tour in the mid 1990s. Back then they didn't have computer playlist programs, everything was done manually, they had some CD decks, turntables, and even (gasp) a cassette deck!
Today from what it sounds like most of the programming is automated, and they probably dont have that many students involved, at least it doesn't sound like it.
Their website seems out of date too.

It brings back memories of the way LI used to be though.

I've lived here for 9 years and can't wait to get the heck out! Sick of slobs who have more pride in their cars than in their homes. Tired of living next to people who have a 3 bedroom ranch yet there are about 15 people living in there. Town of Islip doesn't do a damn thing. Too many illegal apartments and not enough people to enforce it. To me it is a fire hazard.
