No, that is communist thinking there.

Laws are written to be gotten around. Do your patriotic duty and find loopholes. In the land where we graduate more Lawyers than Doctors, we need to cut all the corners/find all the loopholes/ and get off for all the technicalities we can possibly fit into one afternoon.

Maybe if they just tracked everyone's GPS and phones to see how fast you were going and handed out tickets accordingly. I should call Haliburton and get on that one. It would be worth millions, and they are evil enough to turn into a profitable business.

I think you'll find that New York State decided not to do this, as motorists would decline to carry the E-Z Pass tags in their vehicles if they were used for speed enforcement.

I do know that E-Z Pass tags are distance timed in aggregate to provide data for the "Average Travel Time To:" signs on the parkways.

Agree. If you are already in the intersection waiting to make a left turn, and the light turns red, you can complete your turn aftet the light turns red.

Do not, however, enter an intersection on red. You may get a ticket at a photo enforced intersection, and it's a great way to set off your airbags!

The red light tickets are issued to the vehicle registrant, not a driver. There are no points associated with these tickets. They don't show up on your driving record and being convicted of a red light ticket will not cause your insurance premiums to increase. Your license won't even be suspended if you don't pay. You may, however, experience difficulty renewing the red-light-running vehicle's registration if their are unpaid convictions or unanswered tickets. This enforcement method is similar to a parking ticket.

A little money out of your pocket as a reminder not to go through red lights.

My question is I thought I Read someplace that the county is required to post signs which say that there is a camera there. I did not see any such signs so I went back and took photos.

Before I send in the ticket with a not guilt plea does anyone know if this is grounds for dismissal of the ticket?
Everyone ive seen in Suffolk has a Yellow sign about 500-100ft befor the light.

The Nicolls Road/347 intersection out in Stony Brook has 8 cameras aimed at it - 2 cameras per corner. Saw them the other day and couldn't believe it - it creates a prison-like feeling. Big brother is definitely watching.

I am very much against so much government oversight but since people apparently do not have any consideration for others on the road, I am more than pleased when I see idiots get tagged by the cameras.

I think a grave would feel even more prison-like if you ever get hit in that intersection by someone who blew the light.

Default hmm

Anybody who gets a ticket from these cameras deserves it. I know all the interesections where they are .EVERY time people go around me when i stop at a red light and get tagged by them.

IF you dont want to pay then dont run the lights.

Two idiots were caught when I was heading south around 5:45 PM - two separate flashings occurred. It was very easy to spot, and I was especially watching to see if people were still running the red lights - obviously they are.

There are some people out there who won't be deterred by fines from driving dangerously. Think of all those drunks and drug addicts who don't care about anything except their next high.
