Are there any magnet schools on Long Island? I recently moved here and can't find the information anywhere.

Thanks,
Wantaghmom

There was a magnet school in Westbury, but a huge truck drove past it one day, ripped it off it's foundation, and drove away with it.

What would you need a "magnet school" for in Wantagh?

Wantaghmom, there are 50+ school districts each in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and, as independent gov't entities, these school districts prefer not to have magnet schools that could draw away some of their better students, which would also mean that funds would be diverted from these school districts to pay for the magnet schools.
